SPECIAL OCCASION Meeting (Christmas Banquet, Golf Outing, Etc...)

February:
Tuesday the 21st is the Engineering Fair at the Science Museum Oklahoma

  • Every year SME 125 sponsors the Ping Pong ball launcher competition at the engineering fair. It allows students from different schools and age groups to use their ingenuity and a house hold mouse trap to compete against each other for prizes and a year of bragging rights. The Ping pong ball launcher competition is one of many competitions that are held at the engineering fair. Please contact me if you are interested in helping out with the competition. We are going to have some student chapter members from SWOSU, but would also appreciate any members from 125 that could help out.

Thank you to all our Volunteers

Thursday the 23rd is the Joint Engineering Societies Banquet

  • This banquet is comprised of the many Engineering societies in Oklahoma. It is held to promote interaction among the many societies, and to honor many of the students participating in the Engineering Week activities. The activities range from students that participate in the Future City and Math Counts competitions to those who participated in Engineer for a day with various companies across the state. There will also be a slide show shown during the meal highlighting the Engineering Fair, Math Counts questions, and Future City projects.  Please see the attached registration form for more information.

  • Tickets can also be purchased for $16/person by mail or online at:  http://www.ospe.org/cde.cfm?event=296437

December:
FIRST Tech Challenge Oklahoma Regional Tournament at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

  • This is the third year for the FTC to be held at SWOSU which is home to  our student chapter S181. FTC is a robotics competition that is open to high school students ages 14-18. We would appreciate any members from 125 that are interested in helping out.
